Dia de Los Muertos or "Day of the Dead" is a Mexican tradition steeped in history. This holiday, which takes its origin from the Aztecs, is a celebration to honor deceased relatives and friends. As part of this colorful festival people don wooden skull masks called "calacas" and dance in celebration of those that have passed. The festive wooden skulls are also placed on altars that are dedicated to the dead.
