Liz Trueblood lives in Vancouver with a wonderful and entertaining muse, her doggie
friend echo. She has a degree in fine art from Queen's University in
Kingston Ontario and has been making art since she was a young girl.
Liz always knew she would pursue a career as a painter despite her dear mother's
fears that she would die impoverished, in a dive, in some large and dreary city.
Exploring and mastering a range of painting styles has kept Liz busy over the
years. She is inspired by folk art, outsider art and, most of all, children's art.
Many concerns have run through her work, specifically an interest
in colour, texture and narrative, combined with an intuitive, exploratory and some
times humor filled approach to subject matter.
Liz's deceptively simple paintings offer deeper concepts in a fresh new approach.
